Manufacturing Priority Agenda 2025
Prepared By Kenya Association of Manufacturers - 2025The MPA 2025 is a strategic roadmap aimed at accelerating and sustaining the growth of Kenya’s manufacturing sector. It is designed to guide KAM’s advocacy efforts and policy engagements to enhance the sector’s competitiveness, resilience, and contribution to national prosperity. The agenda is structured around four key pillars: Global Competitiveness, Export-led Industrialization, Agriculture for Industry, and SME Development. It addresses critical challenges such as high production costs, regulatory burdens, energy access, transport and logistics inefficiencies, and market access limitations. The MPA emphasizes the need for stable and predictable policies, reduced regulatory and tax burdens, promotion of local raw materials, and improved skills development to create an enabling environment for manufacturers. By fostering collaboration between government and private sector stakeholders, the MPA seeks to support Kenya’s vision of increasing manufacturing’s contribution to GDP to 20% by 2030, driving job creation, industrial transformation, and sustainable economic growth. The agenda also champions the “Buy Kenya, Build Kenya” initiative to boost local consumption of manufactured goods and strengthen domestic industries.
